Join the Man Revolution!

Enough with the man bashing. It's about time that men are no longer represented as grunting neanderthals who only drink beer, eat massive disgusting looking hamburgers, and are only interested in sports and women with unearthly breast augmentation. You don't have to wait longer than a commercial break in your favorite TV show or see some ad on the internet to realize that all men have been reduced to a stereotype that seems to be based on a Budweiser commercial written by a brilliant collaboration Tim Allen and Larry the Cable Guy.

Men are just as dynamic as women in their pursuits, ambitions, hobbies, etc. It's time that we stop the negative stereotyping of men. It doesn't make things better for women. And it doesn't make up for stereotyping of women either. Not any more than reverse racism makes things better for minorities, or is justified by things done to minorities in the past. For whatever reason, it is fine to pigeon-hole an entire gender and reduce them to a punchline of a stupid joke. I'm pretty sick of this.

Just because a man is well educated, dresses well, demonstrates cultural and social understanding, and capable does not necessarily mean he is homosexual. And just because he likes football, participates in a March Madness pool, or likes fishing doesn't mean he is a crude mullet sporting redneck. This might come as a shock, but it is possible for a man to enjoy his favorite football team, go fishing with his buddies, and still enjoy shopping with his significant other and fine literature. Who doesn't want to be a well-rounded jack of all trades with the ability to take pleasure in most situations and have an appreciation for the finer things in life no matter what those might be?

This is a topic that can't be dropped so soon. I hope more of my fellow men will sign on to fight the man bashing!

Don't worry, I didn't die.

I know those who read this blog know that I'm still alive and kicking, but it has been a long while since I've posted. I don't know why. I've been negligent. There is really no excuse for why I haven't posted. I have officially decided to go to Pepperdine School of Law so I will be spending the next three years in Malibu going to school. Not a bad situation. The campus is beautiful, the school is good, and it feels right. I can't beat that.

I am going to try and post more often, especially when I start law school so I can keep all my friends up on what is going on. I plan on posting this weekend because there are some things to discuss (man bashing, immigration, and gas prices to name a few). I am also going fishing with my brother to celebrate his last few weeks as a single man before he gets married on June 30. I plan on catching a mythic size trout so I will take some pictures.
